I stumbled across this farm-to-table Italian spot while wandering around Russian Hill, and I am so glad I did! As an east coast Italian, sometimes I can be hard to please when it comes to west coast Italian cuisine, but this place is the real deal! The guy that started this spot trained in Sicily for 3 years and the food is amazing! The garlic focaccia, maccheroncelli, and chocolate bundino were all delightful. The service was wonderful too. I'm already planning my next excuse to come back!

This restaurant has so many yummy vegetarian pastas/raviolis on their menu which pair perfectly with their moscato d'asti. The quantity is not sufficient to share but every pasta is unique and creamy (not cheesy necessarily) in texture which makes the filling taste even better. I loved all of them except the funghi pasta which had a strong mushroom-flavor. Even their chocolate dessert is exceptional with a strong hazelnut flavor. Highly recommend for good vibes, good service and great food.

seven Hills Food: Lamb w/ asparagus, artichoke hearts, peas and a red sauce. 10/10 recommend! lamb(medium) was tender and has this lemon'ish chimichuri flavored liquid reduction. the Asparagus is sweet and perfectly charred, paired with soft and buttery artichoke hearts. the peas and pods take on. similar taste but have a al dente texture. Drinks: red wine pairing - piderros (hope i spelled that right but my waiter recommended it) portion size: small if you're not getting an appetizer etc. service: staff attentive, came back to check in on us and even gave us wine pairing thoughts. it's gets a bit busy so adjust expectations if it's busy. Ambiance: great for any group, dates (so many dates were happening), solo or events. they has music playing and the lights are a little moody (bring your reading glasses) Parking: we walked but it looked like there was street parking. Payment: apple pay and card are both options. not sure about cash

I finally got to try seven hills the other day. This is one of the cutest restaurants in nob hill. It is perfect for a catch up with friends or a date night. An upscale Italian restaurant with the friendliest staff! We ordered the homemade focaccia (one of the best I've had), beef carpaccio, slow braised lamb pasta and the chocolate mousse dessert. Everything we ordered was so flavorful and truly hit the spot. I think the dessert was one of the highlights for me. It was rich in flavor and the texture was perfectly creamy. I will definitely be back here

This is my second time at Seven Hills! One of my friends told me that Seven Hills is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city, and in a city with so much competition in the Italian food category, I would say that's a very strong endorsement. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and reservations are relatively easy to make. Between the two visits, I've had a chance to try both the staple and signature dishes (maccheroncelli) and some of the newer and more seasonal ones (they had a truffle special this time because it was truffle season). The pappardelle we ordered this time reminded me of what I had at Flour + Water two weeks ago. Overall, I think the dishes were solid but they didn't really surprise me. The soup (zuppa stagionale) was alright. The pasta was delicious but nothing that made me feel like this is something that I've never seen before or something that I couldn't get elsewhere. We ordered dishes to share among the table both times, and I don't think I would have been able to finish one pasta all by myself because the taste got a little repetitive. I can see why people think Seven Hills is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city though. It's probably one of the few places that doesn't overcook your pasta... I'd always consider Seven Hills a safe choice close to home. Just a note on how they structure their meal progressions. They request that you order dishes all in one go and things were served one at a time. It felt a little weird to me because we ordered two pasta but we couldn't see the second one until we finished the first one.

Had dinner at Seven Hills on a Saturday night and it definitely did not disappoint. I ordered the gem salad and squid ink noodles with Hawaiian shrimp. The salad was great, but the squid ink fettuccine dish was excellent and very flavorful. A quaint authentic Italian restaurant with superb service. The manager/owner interacted with the customers and takes great pride in the product the restaurant serves. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes.

delicious food, great service and lovely ambience. the garlic & parmesan focaccia was so crisp outside and soft inside. I liked the truffle tortelloni a lot more than the pesto tagliolini. the focaccia bread pudding was a nice sweet ending without being too rich or dense.

Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4.5/5 TL;DR: Seven Hills is a delicious & nice Italian restaurant in SF that you should try at least once. Great place for a date or group hang out. Their homemade pasta is incredible and I love how everything is so fresh and the seasonal ingredients they use. The restaurant has a dark, "moody" interior. The staff is exceptional -- they're super nice and very attentive which made the dining experience so much more enjoyable. Duck Liver Pate: *4/5*: Bread was toasted perfectly with a heavy spread of duck pate. The pate was really rich and creamy. Wasn't a big fan of how they paired it with the mandarinquat -- enjoyed it more the last time I was here but still delicious. Tomato Braised Polpette: *5/5*: You get two big meatballs that were filled with a little bit of cheese in the center. The meatballs were delicious -- well seasoned, super soft, and incredibly tasty with the tomato sauce it comes with. The two pieces of bread it came with was nice and soft; however, they were a little too charred so the smokiness was pretty overpowering. (if you ordered focaccia bread, highly recommend dipping it into the sauce / eating it with the meatballs) Herb Focaccia Bread: *5/5*: Soft, fluffy, savory, delicious Maccheroncelli: *5/5*: Favorite pasta they serve. The pasta is cooked perfectly al dente -- nice and firm yet so chewy. The tomato sauce was really good and the ricotta helps to cut through the tartness. Wish there was a little more basil but still delicious nonetheless Pappardelle: *4/5*: Again, the pasta was made & cooked perfectly -- super thin sheets that were chewy and was coated in sauce. It was a light, white creamy sauce which could've had a little more flavor and wish they added more sauce. When you get to the bottom pieces of pappardelle, it tasted bland and like we were just eating the noodle itself with a light taste of sauce. The lamb was really tender and delicious.

Seven Hills is perfect for any occasion - whether it's a family dinner, a romantic evening with your partner, or a girls' night out. The pasta dishes are absolute heaven and every bite is pure bliss. We couldn't help but moan with pleasure as we savored each dish. The ambiance with its dark interior exudes a sexy vibe, and the wait staff are exceptionally friendly. Plus, the bathrooms are spotlessly clean. Be sure to make a reservation in advance to secure your spot!

I always would walk by Seven Hills and had the need to try it for quite some time. I really thought it would be overhyped like a lot of places in SF but I am glad to say I was proven wrong. Atmosphere: Dark and intimate with two dining areas. There is one next to the bar and then a back dining area closer to the kitchen. Ok so now on to the food... Appetizer and drinks: We started with the Garlic and Parmesan Focaccia with a some red Italian wines. The bread was a 5/5 and the wine was 3/5 (luck of the draw). Mains: We got the Pappardelle and the Tortelli. The Pappardelle has a rich tomato and meat richness to it that was out of this world. The Tortelli has a nice Umami flavor to it. I personally like the Pappardelle more than the Tortelli but both are a 5/5. I cannot wait to come back and try more of the pastas. Dessert: We ended the night with the Strauss Panna Cotta which tastes just like a Creamsicle. 5/5. Overall: A must try
